Stacey started her playing career at the incredibly young age of 3 years old with the 1st South Shields Girls Brigade Band. At this time she played cymbals before progressing to the trumpet at the age of 6. Stacey's first teacher was Gary Young who always gave her encouragement and introduced her to South Shields Schools Brass Band.
From there, Stacey progressed to The Felling Band where she played Repiano cornet until leaving in 2001 to join Gateshead Brass. Stacey enjoyed some good times with Gateshead Brass winning the 2002 North of England Brass Band Championships (1st Section) and appearing with them at the National Finals held in Torquay later that year. In 2004, Stacey returned to her first loved Band, Felling, initially to play percussion at the National Finals held in Harrogate 2004. In early 2005, Stacey took up the challenge of the Flugel Horn and now claims 'she has found her instument!' Stacey's favourite piece is George Lloyd's Royal Parks and she particularly has a fondness for the 2nd movement.
Stacey's other passion is singing & acting. She has appeared in many amateur productions over the years and has a particular passion for musical theatre. She has recently passed her PGCE in secondary education and starts her career as a music teacher at Ovingham Middle School in September. Stacey is also part of the teaching staff at 'Performers' Stage School, Boldon.
