Colin began his playing career at an early age with the Salvation Army before moving out into the Brass Band scene playing notably with Harton & Westoe and Ashington Colliery Bands.

For many years, Colin has been a stalwart of The Felling Band and at one time or another has filled seats in the tenor horn, euphonium, baritone and bass sections. Colin now dedicates his playing time in the Band as a member of our Percussion section where he prides himself on the natural vibrato he can produce from a cymbal roll!

Colin is also the Band Chairman, a position he fills with great enthusiasm. His proudest moment as Chairman was for the Band to be crowned North of England First Section Champions in 2006.

Colin is a member of the famous Felling Male Voice Choir where he sings baritone. He has sung at some of the most famous concert venues in the UK and has taken part in numerous european tours.

He is married to Dawn who descibes herself as a reluctant Band widow. They have two children and a grandson called Lewis.
